We have some new options for your library account, including new notification and receipt options (texts!). Here’s a rundown of information that we can edit on your account. You’ll be able to edit some things (anything in bold, either at home or at the library!), and others you’ll have to visit the library to update (everything else).
– Name and Preferred Name
– Registered Library
– Pickup Person
– Parent/Guardian (2 fields)
– Email (2 fields)
– Phone (2 fields)
Hearing from us:
– Receipts (when you take care of something at the library desk–checkouts, renewals, fees)
– Notifications (when we let you know something about your account–holds ready, items due)
Things you can choose in your online account:
– Reading History
To check your account online, head to catalog.ncls.org, and log in (top right corner) with your library card number and password. Under My Bookshelf, you’ll find current checkouts, current holds, fines and fees, and your profile information (where you can see the contact information on your account). You’ll also see tabs for Bookmarks and Saved Searches.
We’ll have tutorial videos next week so you can see an account in action! For an overview, here’s our post from earlier this week when we went live, NCLS’s FAQ page, and our announcement about the new system! Of course, if you have any questions, let us know!
